About

Gabriella Duffy is a curator and creative producer currently based on Gunaikurnai Country in regional Victoria. Her practice is grounded in care, collaboration, and accessibility, with a recent focus on cross-disciplinary approaches that draw connections to place, environment and communities.

Gabriella has previously held several positions at Latrobe Regional Gallery across areas of curating, public programs, education and collection management. During her time at LRG, Gabriella worked on several key projects to foster audience engagement and access. She was instrumental in the development of the dynamic children’s art space, The Lane, featuring interactive installations and hands-on experiences that spark curiosity, creativity, and participation.

Having worked extensively with the LRG permanent collection, her curatorial projects for the gallery often featured collection pieces paired with works by invited artists, reflecting on current social, environmental and cultural discussions.

Her approach to public programming is an integral extension of curatorial thinking to deepen audience engagement and expand interpretive possibilities of exhibitions. She has programmed live performances in response to specific exhibitions, such as a special performance by dance collective InPlay Projects for Kim McDonald’s exhibition Spectral Sea and a sonic performance by Dylan Martorell for Josephine Jakobi’s exhibition Observatorium among others.

Gabriella is currently completing a Master of Art Curatorship at the University of Melbourne. Her research interests centre on the intersection of art and ecology. She has completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts (2018) at Monash University.
