The Edge of the Unknown was an immersive children’s art space in The Lane at Latrobe Regional Gallery. Inspired by curiosity, exploration, and the mysteries of the natural and imagined worlds, here children were invited to venture beyond the familiar and embrace the wonder of discovery.

The space was transformed into a speculative zone where children could become explorers, inventors, and storytellers. Each activity was designed to enrich children’s experience of the exhibitions across the gallery and prompted them to visualise the unknown; imaginary creatures, unexplored landscapes or otherworldly environments.
